This large-format album features black-and-white photographs of nude female bodies, played with light, with the waves and their foam at the seashore.

These photographs, chosen by Saint-John Perse, are juxtaposed with excerpts from his famous poem Amers, published in 1957 by Gallimard.

The photographs are printed in heliogravure.
