Description from the seller

Lead-glazed earthenware figure of a monastic saint holding the Christ Child, Northern European, early 18th century.

The saint is shown wearing a monastic habit and tonsure, holding the Christ Child in a tender, devotional pose. The figure is simply modelled, with softly defined features and flowing drapery.
The surface is covered with green and brown lead glazes. The reverse is hollowed and largely unglazed, indicating it was intended for wall placement.

Condition: overall in good condition with wear consistent with age.

Dimensions: 21.5 x 7.5 cm.
