Wooden headrest decorated with giraffes, made by the Hamar people in Ethiopia, dating to 1950–1960, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and small stains, dimensions 26 x 20 x 16 cm, weight 500 g.

Headrest decorated with giraffes, Hamar tribe in Ethiopia.
They were used as headrests when sleeping among other things by herders in the field or to protect elaborate hairstyles.
The Hamar are a rural community with agricultural and livestock activities, located in the mountainous and lowland areas of the Lower Omo Valley in southern Ethiopia.
Leather handle.
This lot has been carefully cleaned and is being carefully packaged, sent by registered mail and insured (with Track & Trace code so you can track the shipment). Pickup in (Ridderkerk- South Holland) is also possible. I have tasty hand-ground coffee.
