Rubellite gem from the Himalaya Mine, San Diego, California, United States, set in a lepidolite matrix with an original tag, measuring 6 cm high, 3 cm wide, 3 cm deep and weighing 74 g.
Description from the seller
A great classic of world mineralogy: an extraordinary tourmaline from the famous Himalaya mine, enriched by a lepidolite matrix that further enhances its aesthetics.
The crystal presents a splendid green base, from which a slender body develops that gradually evolves toward intense gem red hues, creating a chromatic contrast of great impact and rare elegance. The photographs were taken in back lighting, a technique that highlights the transparency and gemological quality of the crystal, emphasizing its depth and the vivacity of the colors.
The termination of the tourmaline is particularly interesting: some areas are not fully terminated, which however do not compromise the aesthetic balance of the piece, indeed they add character and authenticity to the specimen, testifying to its natural formation.
A specimen of great charm, ideal for demanding collectors and lovers of classic tourmalines. Difficult to obtain on the current market, ex Bryant Harris Collection, ex Dave Bunk minerals
