Description from the seller
Antique English Flower Table “Margherita” in Mahogany – Early 1800s
A refined English flower table, known as “Margherita,” dating from the early nineteenth century, made in precious mahogany wood. An elegant example of early 1800s English production, characterized by formal balance and meticulous attention to detail.
The round top is finely shaped with a petal-edged wavy rim, recalling the shape of a daisy, and is adorned with a spectacular radial grain arranged in an outward spokes pattern that harmoniously converges toward the center, highlighting the quality of the mahogany.
The turned central column rests on three scrolled legs, enriched with vegetal carvings and ending in carved talon feet, a detail typical of English taste of the era. The tripod base provides stability and lift, maintaining elegant and light proportions.
A table of great charm, ideal as a living room centerpiece, gueridon, or conversation table, perfect for classical interiors, studies, or historic residences.
