Description from the seller

The upper inscription in Cyrillic: “С Георгий” (Sviat Georgii) = Saint George.
Figure on a white horse, a typical attribute of the saint.
Halo: indicates holiness.
Military attire: presents him as a soldier/martyr.
2. Key Iconographic Elements
White horse
Symbolizes purity and spiritual victory.
Calm posture
Unlike the classical dragon-scene, there is no combat: it is a hieratic, devotional representation.
Secondary figure on the right
A donor (very common in popular icons), or
A reduced narrative figure (sometimes the saved youth or witness of the miracle).
Upper-left medallion
A small image of Christ blessing, or
A symbolic head of the saint (difficult to discern due to wear).
3. Style and approximate chronology
Technique: egg tempera on panel.
Dark and ochre tones, with loss of paint layer.
Simple drawing, almost folk-like → points to:
A Russian or Balkan icon
Possibly 18th–19th centuries
Devotional, domestic character
Focuses on the saint as protector and celestial warrior.

This was common in icons intended for private prayer, where symbolic clarity was more important than narration.
