Description from the seller
Stunning antique centerpiece signed Val Saint Lambert, the famous Belgian crystal maker renowned for the quality and finesse of its productions.
The piece consists of:
a glass bowl in smoky gray-tinted crystal with a slight greenish hue. Metal mount worked with a floral motif (roses and leaves), in an Art Deco style.
The dish also shows a reaction under UV light at 365 nm in the dark (visible on a black background), due to the probable presence of manganese once used as a decolorizing agent for glass and crystal.
Diameter: ± 30 cm
Height with handle: ± 20–22 cm
antique handcrafted manufacture
possible micro-bubbles or slight irregularities, normal for this type of production
very pretty play of light thanks to the smoky tint
The glass is in very good condition: no chips, no cracks
Presence of slight traces of use related to age
The metal mount shows a natural patina of time, with a brownish tint and slightly reddish nuances
This is not active rust:
the metal is not damaged or weakened
this coloration corresponds to normal superficial oxidation for an antique piece
The whole remains solid and perfectly stable
