Description from the seller
Kenwood KA-907 – High Speed DC Integrated Amplifier (Flagship)
An icon from the golden age of hi-fi. This Kenwood KA-907 is not just an amplifier; it is a technical masterpiece and the absolute top model in the renowned 'High Speed' series from Kenwood (circa 1979). This beast weighing almost 25 kg is known for its unprecedented speed, grip, and transparency.
Technical Ingenuity:
The KA-907 is built according to a strict dual-mono principle with two enormous transformers, which ensures perfect channel separation and an extremely stable power supply. Thanks to Kenwood's innovative 'High Speed' technology, the amplifier has an extremely high slew rate, resulting in a very dynamic and natural reproduction of transients (rapid sound spikes).
Features:
* Top-class phono section: For vinyl lovers, this unit features an extensive MM and MC phono stage with adjustable impedance.
* Build quality: A solid aluminum front panel, heavy machined knobs, and an interior built like a tank.
* Power: With 150 watts per channel at 8 ohms, this amplifier easily drives even the most demanding speakers.
Condition of the unit:
* Optical: a few small signs of use along the edge of the front panel, wear consistent with age. See photos for a precise impression.
* Technical: Recently serviced with bias adjusted and contacts cleaned.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
* Output power: 150 watts per channel at 8 ohms (stereo)
* Frequency response: DC to 400,000 Hz (+0dB, -3dB)
* Total Harmonic Distortion (THD): 0.01%
* Damping factor: 100
* Input sensitivity: 0.1mV (MC), 2.5mV (MM), 150mV (line)
* Signal-to-noise ratio: 70dB (MC), 90dB (MM), 105dB (line)
* Slew rate: ±230V/µs
* Rise time: 0.8 µs
* Dimensions: 460 x 161 x 463 mm
* Weight: 24.8 kg
* Production period: 1979 - 1981
SHIPPING & PACKAGING
Given the substantial weight of nearly 25 kg, this unit will be packed very carefully in a sturdy, double box with ample protective material. Shipping is via an insured courier service with Track & Trace. Pickup is of course possible by arrangement.
Warranty:
The audio equipment we offer is mostly vintage, 40 years old or older. Each unit is carefully checked, professionally cleaned, and extensively tested before it is offered for sale.
Despite this careful inspection, it may happen that a defect occurs on receipt or after some time. Due to the age of the equipment, such malfunctions can arise unexpectedly and are unfortunately beyond our control.
For this reason we cannot offer a warranty on vintage equipment. We understand this can be annoying and we believe it is important to be transparent and honest about it. Of course we do our utmost to deliver every unit in as good a condition as possible.
