This refined vodka cup was produced in the Soviet Union and is made of solid 916 silver, a fineness notably higher than the more commonly used standards for everyday silver tableware.
A particularly striking feature of this piece is its richly and thickly gilded interior. The deep, mature tone of the gilding clearly indicates a high-quality and substantial gold layer, far beyond the thin decorative gilding typically found on standard production items. This type of gilding was reserved for premium silver objects, both for functional reasons and for long-term durability.
The cup has a classic, well-balanced tapered vodka cup form, with precise proportions and a carefully finished surface. Its weight of 34 grams confirms that it is not plated or lightweight, but a genuinely substantial silver object.
