Description from the seller
Citroën - ID 19 P - 1965
GENERAL
This beautiful Citroën ID 19 P has always been carefully maintained. Although vehicles over 50 years old are no longer required to pass the APK in the Netherlands, I have the car undergo a comparable technical inspection every two years as a precaution. The car has been in the Netherlands since 1983 and has been in my possession since 2019.
BODYWORK & PAINT
After purchase the bodywork was fully straightened and professionally repainted. The paint is in very good condition with no dents or scratches. Only at two small spots is there a need for minor touch-ups: at the front right, bottom of the rear of the front wheel, there is a small blister, and at the edge of the hood near the windshield there is a minimal irregularity visible (see photos).
The color is AC101 Gris Anthracite, an original color that was delivered on the Citroën ID in France in 1965. The color code can be found on the right side under the hood, against the gutter (passenger side, see photo).
The chrome is neatly polished. All window rubbers and other rubbers have been renewed. The Marchal lighting functions correctly and all indicator units have been renewed. The underside of the car is clean and solid, as are the sills.
There have been some welding repairs: the front-left jack point has been replaced and small sections in the rain gutter under the rear window have been professionally welded in. Additionally, the car has been treated with Dinitrol anti-rust protection.
The wheels have been blasted and powder-coated, as have various black components, as visible in the photos.
TECHNICAL
The brake rotors are fully rebuilt. The brake shoes have been cleaned and fitted with new stainless steel brake calipers. All parts on the rotors have been replaced with new ones. The disc brakes are in very good condition, as are the rear drum brakes.
The tires still have good tread and are equipped with very neat hubcaps.
The hydraulic system (LHS) is in excellent condition. The car raises and lowers quickly and correctly, and the power steering works very smoothly. The drive belts are in good condition and the clutch has been rebuilt, including a new clutch plate and pressure plate.
The engine has been thoroughly rebuilt. The carburetor is new, as is the high-pressure pump (HD pump) for the hydraulic system. The power steering has also been rebuilt. The rocker arms and rubber seals have all been renewed. The hydraulic reservoir is New Old Stock.
During the engine overhaul the cylinders, cylinder liners, piston rings and push rods were replaced. The engine block has been cleaned and fitted with new spark plugs. In the distributor housing the contact points and condenser were renewed. Also the spark plug wires and coil are new. The radiator has been rebuilt and repainted. The aluminum cooling duct has been cleaned and fitted with a new artificial leather cover. Since the overhaul the engine delivers improved torque and excellent performance. The engine runs beautifully and, as shown in the last photo, CO₂ emissions are low.
The Solex carburetor is a new replica recently launched on the Dutch market. The car starts effortlessly.
INTERIOR
The interior is largely original and in very neat condition. The seats and rear bench have new foam, while the original red fabric is in excellent condition with no tears or damage. The door panels are original and well preserved.
The headlining is original, properly secured and in good condition. The car is equipped with original Citroën three-point seat belts. The floor mats are new and were purchased from René Schoone.
The dashboard is neat, though the vinyl has light wear on a few small spots. The original radio is present but not connected. No speakers are installed. All switches function correctly and the interior lighting works as it should. The wiring looms are in very good condition and the clock functions.
DOCUMENTATION
All invoices for the restoration and purchased parts are present and will be handed over to the new owner upon sale.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
