BENCHARY BOOKCASE arises as a project to minimize intervention on the material, with the aim of creating a bold piece with character.
This low-slung bookcase derives its surface finish treatment from the BENCHY BENCH project, where surf boards, human textures and Paleolithic flint stones are the main inspiration.
The wood has been treated using carving tools nowadays, a technique that in this case has been used only where the different pieces that make up the set intersect to connect. Marco Calhau has only intervened at the intersections as a way of letting the boards express themselves and communicate what this beautiful European ash has.
A true ode to wood.
This product can be custom-made; dimensions, finish, and wood type can be customized.
Delivery time for a bespoke object is four weeks.
