Carlo X Console in Walnut, Mid 1800s
Elegant Italian console in solid walnut from the Carlo X period, dating to the mid-nineteenth century. The shaped top features a wavy, sinuous line, enhanced by a softly undulating under-top frieze that highlights its formal elegance.
The structure rests on four richly carved legs, characterized by substantial volutes and hand-carved scrolls, typical of the Carlo X taste. The front legs, of strong visual impact, are connected by a shaped crosspiece that rests on a central, also curved base, imparting solidity and harmony to the overall piece.
