AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Stupendous Chinese altar/console table, probably dating from the Qing dynasty (late 19th century), solid elmwood construction with beautiful honey-colored grain visible, beneath the rectangular top there is a gorgeous pierced frieze in traditional Chinese style, with architectural elements typical like horse-hoof legs or supports with geometric carvings, at the center on the front there is a small retractable drawer (red lacquer). Historically used to display Buddha statues, offerings or decorative objects in entrances and hallways. These tables were made in fine elm wood because, besides its natural luster and hardness, elm wood is not attacked by termites. Stunning piece, of great value both aesthetically and historically and suitable for placement, for its size and style, in any furnishing setting, whether classic or modern.
