Description from the seller
Three-Seat Sofa in Louis XV Style, Napoleonic III Era
Elegant French three-seat sofa, crafted in Louis XV style and dating to the Napoleonic III era (second half of the 19th century).
The framework, finely carved in solid wood, features sinuous and flowing lines typical of the Rocaille taste: curved legs, a sculpted apron with floral motifs and central shells, arms richly carved, and an upper crest decorated with a central phytomorphic element.
The upholstery is covered in green velvet, enhanced by a double border of patinated brass tacks that emphasize its elegant profile. The gilding patina, today delicately subdued by time, adds authenticity and charm to the piece as a whole.
The broad and slightly contoured backrest ensures comfort and proportion, while the solid, well-balanced structure makes the sofa suitable for both classical interiors and more eclectic contexts where a piece with strong decorative character is desired.
Dimensions:
Height: 123 cm
Width: 190 cm
Depth: 82 cm
Seat height: 45 cm
Code: DLVX8236
