Description from the seller

From: Pokémon (Early Series, 1997–2008 era)

This is an authentic, original, one-of-a-kind Japanese production drawing, hand-drawn by studio artists at OLM, Inc. and used in the creation of the anime series Pokémon.

As an original production material, this artwork is entirely unique, with no duplicates in existence. The subject of the scene being Charizard adds to the rarity of the item, as animation drawings featuring this Pokemon rarely appear in the art market.

Created for internal studio use during the original broadcast production period, this drawing is a genuine artifact from the animation process of one of the most globally recognized anime franchises. Visible construction lines, animation corrections, and studio markings reflect its practical role in production.

This piece is an Animation Director’s correction drawing, featuring Charizard. Such drawings were used to refine and standardize character design and movement, ensuring consistency and quality across the animation. These production details provide rare insight into the supervisory stage of the animation process and further enhance its authenticity and historical value.

A Certificate of Authenticity will be included with your purchase.

Please note that this is a vintage production item. Despite careful storage, age-appropriate wear such as light handling marks, paper toning, staple holes, or minor imperfections may be present. Buyers are strongly encouraged to examine all images carefully prior to bidding.

Seller's Story

Japanime Art Gallery is a Japan-based art gallery specializing in authentic anime and manga production art and historically significant collectibles. We primarily curate original animation cels, original drawings, and production materials created during the golden era of hand-drawn Japanese animation, from the 1970s to the 1990s. In addition, we carefully select rare posters, official reproduction artworks, reproduction manuscripts, and related materials that represent the history and cultural context of anime and manga. All works offered by Japanime Art Gallery are selected based on our independent curatorial standards, with a strong emphasis on authenticity, historical background, cultural significance, and preservation condition. Even when offering reproduction works, we only handle officially produced, exhibition-related, or limited-distribution items that hold genuine collectable value. Our mission is not simply to sell artworks, but to elevate anime and manga art as a recognized and respected category within the global art market, and to preserve and pass on its cultural value to future generations. We see ourselves as long-term custodians of anime and manga art, responsible for preserving, contextualizing, and introducing these works to the world as cultural and artistic assets.
