Description from the seller
For sale offered: The absolute top piece from Technics’ 1979 catalog, the SU-8099. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most sought-after integrated amplifiers from Technics’ 'Silver Era'. The SU-8099 was the flagship and is renowned for its uncompromising build quality and immense power.
Technical Mastery:
The SU-8099 is a "Direct Coupled" (DC) amplifier, meaning there are no capacitors in the signal path of the output stage, resulting in an exceptionally pure and uncolored sound reproduction. With a power output of 120 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms and a massive toroidal transformer, this amplifier is capable of driving even the most demanding loudspeakers with ease.
The phono section is of exceptional class, featuring a dedicated preamplifier for both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges, making this unit a favorite among vinyl enthusiasts.
Condition and Maintenance:
• Visual condition: In very neat condition with minimal signs of use on the top panel.
• Technical condition: Fully tested and operational.
Relay contacts have been polished and various connectors and switches have been cleaned.
Technical Specifications:
• Power: 120 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo)
• Frequency range: 1 Hz to 200 kHz (+0dB, -3dB)
• Total harmonic distortion (THD): 0.005%
• Damping factor: 100
• Inputs: Phono (MM/MC), Tuner, Aux, Tape 1 & 2
• Dimensions: 450 x 142 x 420 mm
• Weight: approximately 20 kg
Warranty:
The audio equipment we offer is predominantly vintage gear that is 40 years old or older. Each unit is carefully checked by us, professionally cleaned, and extensively tested before being offered for sale.
Despite this careful inspection, it may happen that a defect arises upon receipt or after a period of time. Because of the age of the equipment, such faults can occur unexpectedly and are beyond our control.
For this reason we cannot provide a warranty on vintage equipment. We understand this can be inconvenient and believe it is important to be transparent and honest about it. Of course, we do our utmost to deliver every unit in as good a condition as possible.
We package our products very carefully so that the risk of transport damage is minimized.
We also arrange transport insurance for every shipment.
