JVC QL-Y5F – High-End Quartz-Lock Turntable – Fully Original and Tested
From my private collection: this rare and highly regarded JVC QL-Y5F has been in my possession for over 25 years. It has been used only occasionally and is in excellent working condition — a collectible from the golden age of Japanese hi-fi technology.
This turntable is equipped with JVC’s renowned quartz-synchronized direct-drive motor, an electro-dynamic servo tonearm, and fully automatic operation with electronic arm control. The unit has been fully tested — all functions work perfectly, including automatic start, stop, and lift of the arm.
A nice detail: the player reaches its rotational speed in less than one second, comparable to a Technics SL-1200MK2 — and thus belongs to the fastest-starting and most stable fully automatic turntables of its time.
Included is the original JVC headshell (cartridge not included). The Philips GP412 cartridge visible in a few photos was used only for test purposes and is not included in this offer.
Condition
• Fully functional; quartz-lock holds speed perfectly
• The wood-veneer cabinet is in excellent condition
• Minor cosmetic damage to the left front corner of the underside (see photo with euro coin)
• Slight irregularity on the front aluminium edge – purely aesthetic (see close-up)
• The dustcover is complete and structurally intact; shows typical signs of use and age, but no cracks
• RCA cables in good condition; earth lead has an open end (see photo)
