Description from the seller

A characterful and decorative tulip vase in classic Delft style, made of white ceramic with refined cobalt blue floral motifs. This special piece reflects an centuries-old Dutch tradition in which tulip vases were not only functional flower holders but also true showpieces in the interior.

The vase has a spherical body resting on three elegant legs. Around it are several separate spouts into which individual tulips or other flowers can be placed. This construction ensures the flowers are nicely spread out and shown to their best advantage.

Tulip vases originated in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, a period when tulips were extraordinarily precious and prestigious. By using multiple spouts, tulips could be presented separately, without their delicate stems touching each other. This type of vase thus became an iconic symbol of Dutch ceramic tradition.

This piece combines that historical form with decoration inspired by classic Delft Blue. The refined floral patterns in deep cobalt blue contrast beautifully with the bright white background. The decoration is applied carefully and gives the object an elegant and timeless appearance.

Through its sculptural form and rich decoration, this tulip vase is both functional and decorative. Even without flowers, the object provides a distinctive accent in an interior, display cabinet, or on a set dining table.

Tulip vases remain beloved collectibles and are a recognizable part of Dutch ceramic history. This specimen brings that tradition to life in a stylish and accessible way.
