Description from the seller

Louis XVI-style mantel clock in alabaster and gilded bronze, made by a clockmaker from Pamiers in France, mechanical striking movement, 19th century.

Stunning Louis XVI style mantel clock, crafted in alabaster and adorned with finely chased gilded bronzes.

This elegant French clock is distinguished by its refined decoration, including a covered urn in the upper part, vegetal scrolls, as well as blue Jasperware-type medallions in the Wedgwood taste. The balance wheel is decorated with a radiating mascaron.

The dial with Roman numerals is signed by a clockmaker from Pamiers (Ariège, France), attesting to a regional French production of quality dating from the late 19th century.

It is equipped with a key-wound mechanical movement (hours and striking on a bell). The mechanism is complete and visible from the back.

In working order, including the winding key, good overall condition with signs of wear and scratches appropriate to age, see the photos — they are part of the description.

An elegant and authentic piece, ideal for classic decor or a collection of antique clocks.
