Wood, Marble - China - 20th century

A very fine and richly decorated Chinese plant stand made of solid hardwood. This specimen is a beautiful example of craftsmanship, with hand-carved details and a classic design.
​Features:
​Carving: The table is surrounded by refined openwork carving with floral motifs (blossoms). The corners of the legs are decorated with imposing dragon heads or mythical creatures, which flow into elegant curved legs ending in claw feet ('ball-and-claw feet').
​Top: The top surface features a beautifully inlaid panel of natural marble with a vivid pattern in pink and gray tones. The edge of the wooden top is finished with a classic bead rim.
​Construction: Solid construction with a crossbar on the underside for extra stability. The wood has a deep reddish-brown color (probably cherry wood or a similar hardwood with a warm finish).
​Condition:
In good, used condition. The woodwork shows a beautiful patina. There are some light signs of use and small splits/cracks in the wood visible, which is characteristic of antique wooden furniture of this age. The marble is intact without major fractures.
