Christofle - Platter - Silverplated

Silver-plated metal service tray manufactured by the prestigious Christofle luxury silversmith house during the second half of the 20th century.

This model bears the mark “Chrisotel,” a contraction of Christofle and hotel, indicating its original destination for a hotel establishment, most likely upscale. Chrisotel is indeed a line used by Christofle for its professional productions intended for hospitality and catering (trays, cutlery and silver-plated items). This designation appears on pieces specially made for institutional use, distinct from the classic consumer line.

The pieces marked Chrisotel sometimes feature a specific engraved hallmark, identifying them as Christofle articles designed for hotel use.
