CERTIFIED ORIGINAL BARBIE™ FABERGÉ™.
A unique, hard to find gem.
In 1997 the toy manufacturer Mattel™ along with Fabergé™ launched the first of three limited edition dolls in homage to the glorious days of the Russian tsars. Fabergé™ has been linked to the Russian Imperial Court since he became a court jeweller. Carl Fabergé was responsible for providing the Russian upper class with luxuriously crafted jewellery and, above all, to create between 1885 and 1917 for the imperial house his famous eggs of Fabergé™. Since then Fabergé™ is synonymous with splendour..
The first of the three dolls is Barbie™ Fabergé™ Imperial Elegance. It wears a royal blue satin dress with a gold lamé skirt, laboriously embroidered with nearly 50,000 stitches and decorated with a total of 175 Swarovski crystals™. Regarding jewellery, the Barbie™ doll wears glamorous earrings and a multi-row pearl necklace. The blonde hair stands out topped by a golden tiara.
The most remarkable accessory is, however, Barbie™ golden bag, which has the shape and design of one of FABERGE™ EGGs matching the colour of the dress. The bag has been made as a medallion hiding a heart-shaped Swarovski™ crystal inside.
