【Product details】
This exquisite Meiji-Era antique vanity set features a chest of drawers topped with a removable mirror holder and stand, all adorned with intricate gold makie art depicting the auspicious motifs of pine, bamboo, and plum (Sho-Chiku-Bai). Note that a hand-held mirror is not included in this set.
The set comes with five drawers for ample storage.
A nine-leaf bamboo family crest adds historical and aesthetic significance to the piece. This crest has been notably used by prominent families, including that of strategist Takenaka Hanbei, who served under Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
The vanity set shows signs of age, including minor scratches and some chipping.
The mirror holder shows evidence of repair with adhesive.
The mirror holder and stand are attached to the top of the chest of drawers and can be easily removed for versatility.
