Zaharov clock, model Jaguar XJ, a handcrafted 400-day movement wall clock made from Jaguar XJ components.
Description from the seller
The clock is handcrafted using the rear section of a Jaguar XJ (X351, 2010), giving the car a new life and form as a sculptural timepiece that celebrates motion, speed and rebirth. The project was completed in 2023 and required over 1,500 hours of meticulous manual craftsmanship.
The original Jaguar component features a pearl grey metallic finish, contrasting beautifully with the black metallic body of the clock.
Handmade chrome-plated aluminium hands with precise 45-degree cut edges, designed to catch and reflect light, creating subtle highlights and visual depth.
On the front of the clock, the letter “X” passes through a slot in the body, perfectly mirroring the geometry and identity of the letter "X"
A polished, handcrafted stainless-steel plate with an engraved logo is positioned on the side of the clock’s body, adding a refined industrial accent.
All components of the clock have been individually designed and tested to ensure maximum rigidity, durability, and structural reliability.
A reliable German silent quartz movement, concealed within a dedicated movement holder, guarantees precise and soundless timekeeping.
On the rear side, a crab-shaped clock holder featuring a carved logo follows the elegant curvature of the design.
Along the entire perimeter on the back of the clock body, trapezium brackets with soft polyurethane foam padding provide excellent cushioning and protection during wall mounting.
Engineering resin pads cover the joint between the clock body and the Jaguar component. The prototyping of 14 variations took a total of 4 months to complete.
An image of the Jaguar XJ (X351) is printed on an aluminium plate, reinforcing the concept and origin of the piece.
A handcrafted plaque made of polished stainless steel, containing detailed information about the clock, is placed on the clock holder.
The clock is presented in a handmade polyply gift box, wrapped in grey metallic vinyl — a process that took 4 months to complete. The interior of the box is lined with soft foam covered in luxurious black velvet.
