Description from the seller
Important lot consisting of two pairs of candlesticks in solid brass, part of the furnishings of the family chapel.
I am from the mid-1800s, and their importance and character are given by the fact that they are all made of solid, chiseled brass.
They are indeed distinguished from those that have an internal wooden soul covered by a brass sheet. All together, they are of great effect and value.
All four are presented with a lion's paw triangular base, where in the three squares, two depict images of Jesus on one side, the Sacred Heart on the second, and the Madonna on the third. The other two squares feature the Heart of Jesus, and the third has a flower.
Detail is in the shape and craftsmanship.
The base is 8 cm wide. The triangle is 7 cm tall.
Details include feet carved in a lion's paw shape and carefully depicted sacred images. From here, the candelabrum rises, initially formed from a vase on which a cylinder with horizontal lines rests, followed by a central fluted column measuring 12 cm in height. The height of the candelabrum from the top of the base to the end of the column is 33 cm. At the top of the column, there are two circles, two of which are movable and served for wax drips, while the other two are fixed and decorated with ridges, designed to catch the wax drips.
They are made of solid brass.
Although there are slight differences in the representation of the sacred images, I decided to present them all together because they share the same theme and style, and can be used as decoration on two pieces of furniture to light candles, or on either side of a clock, or to illuminate a table. This adds value because finding four of them is truly difficult, especially in good condition.
They show the signs of age, and this attests to the originality of the objects. By looking at the inside, one understands the centuries they have.
As I was saying, they were part of the furnishings of the family chapel that came into my possession.
My ancestors always placed great importance on the house because it was considered a calling card, and they celebrated the Holy Mass every Sunday.
I sold several sacred vestments used by priests, as I have many and also important wooden or brass candlesticks, some even older, because I truly have a lot and prefer they find a new life instead of being kept closed in a closet.
For my ancestors, the house had to be an expression of beauty, and for this reason, every object they had made had to meet these criteria.
Also considering the dowry to be given to the children, they also had decorative objects or furniture items made in duplicate or triplicate.
I am in good condition, with an antique patina. I don't like shiny objects, but rather those that show their age, which is why I have always had them cleaned while preserving the antique patina.
They are suitable for a classic or modern environment as brass sculptures to be used as candle holders with a candle or electrified as bedside lamps with a lampshade.
I ship with a courier instead of the post office because it arrives faster and allows for double packaging.
The photos for the candeliere are more illustrative than words.
Shipping costs vary depending on the sections of Europe zone 1 or 2 such as the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Eastern countries and the rest of the world, zone three such as Norway, Malta, Cyprus and the rest of the world.
Customs duties will be borne by the buyer.
