The Color Collection 18 Years Old offers a whiskey that has been matured in American oak barrels, enhanced with a delicate touch of European oak. The oak barrels used for The Macallan Color Collection 18 Years Old have previously contained sherry from the region of the same name. With flavors of vanilla, milk chocolate, orange and honeycomb, the whiskey has a natural chestnut color: the result of the harmonious combination over the years of our newly created spirit and the exceptional oak barrels. During 18 years of patient maturation, the whiskey has extracted the flavors of the barrel: lemon citrus and vanilla from the American oak, notes of dried fruit, spices and orange citrus from the European oak, and almonds, toffee, dried fruit and the touch of spices from the sherry seasoning. The result is a sweet and citrusy flavor profile, with dominant notes of sweet oak, clementine and honeycomb.
