AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

You have the opportunity here to purchase four door handles with matching long signs from the period between 1925 and 1930.
According to Walter Gropius (1883-1969), the design for this door handle was created in 1922 in his private studio in Weimar. It is not known whether the door handle design was created in connection with a specific commission or if it was more of a casual design exercise.
These door handles were produced by S. A. Loevy from Berlin and later by Wilhelm Engstfeld AG (Wehag).
The length of the rounded grip surface is approximately 7.5 cm, which is typical for an early manufacturing date.
The handle is made of nickel-plated brass.
Two of the sets are suitable for normal doors.
The other two are equipped with an additional small knob for an inner closure.
The original insert locks with matching keys are included and are functional.
All the handles have been installed and show corresponding signs of use.
