Description from the seller
Def Leppard is a British rock band from Sheffield, United Kingdom, that began their career in the late 1970s and achieved great worldwide success in the 1980s, bringing heavy metal to radio stations and the general public through a blend of melodic hard rock with strong vocal work. Alongside bands like Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Scorpions, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and others, they are recognized as one of the best-selling heavy metal bands of the 1980s. Together with groups like Saxon, Iron Maiden, and Venom, they were a leading band of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Def Leppard has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, with two of their releases earning RIAA Diamond certification (Pyromania and Hysteria). As a result, they became one of the five rock bands, along with The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, and The Who, to have two original studio albums each selling over 10 million copies in the United States alone and over 20 million worldwide. The band is ranked number 31 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock and number 70 on the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Their biggest hit is the song 'Pour Some Sugar on Me,' considered by VH1 as the second-best song of the 1980s. Their well-known and influential studio albums Pyromania and Hysteria have been included in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Rolling Stone also ranked Hysteria as the top glam metal album in its list of the 50 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
