Weights were common in the Byzantine period as a means to measure and standardize the weight of various goods for trade. These weights were typically small objects of different geometric shapes made from materials such as bronze, lead, or stone, and were often inscribed with numerical marks indicating their weight.

Merchants relied on these weights to determine the value of goods such as precious metals, grains, and other products,
These weights, found in ancient Byzantine territories,

Good condition and solid, with good quality and an attractive patina in various shades of olive green.
Signs of wear and tear consistent with age and use. See images.
In practice, the pesos were decorated with Christian symbols (CROSS).

VALUE: Greek alphabet letters that determine the weight value: 3 ounces (3 nummias)
Origin: Germany.
MATERIAL: Bronze
