Description from the seller
Emerald Green Fluorite – Giant Druse from Madagascar
This extraordinary cluster of olive-green fluorite weighs 576 grams and measures 205 × 92 × 23 mm. It is a true druse composed of numerous gem-quality cubic crystals from Mandrosonoro, one of the most renowned localities in Madagascar.
The crystals, with an intense and transparent green, shine with a truly remarkable natural luster. Among the most fascinating features is an intense blue-violet fluorescence under short-wave UV light, capable of highlighting the green tones of the crystal with magical and stellar reflections. This optical phenomenon is due to rare or rare earth impurities, such as europium or manganese, integrated into the crystal lattice, whose electronic transitions emit visible light after UV excitation.
The find — dating back no more than one or two years — has produced specimens unprecedented in quality and consistency. The location of Mandrosonoro, in the district of Ambatofinandrahana, is recognized worldwide for its vividly colored fluorites (ranging from emerald green to purple and blue), often zoned or variable in color, with notable transparency and well-defined crystals.
This druse is a piece that captures attention for:
Important dimensions and the presence of many standard gemmy crystals.
Intense green coloration, rare to find with such purity on cubic druse.
Intense fluorescence that creates a unique spectacle under UV light.
Provenance from a recent discovery, which adds historical and collectible value.
Kire Minerals is proud to present this exceptional sample: a testament to natural beauty and high quality, ideal for those seeking a unique mineral, both for its aesthetics and its physical and optical characteristics.
