The eagle was a powerful symbol for the Roman army. With each Roman legion, a special eagle bearer (Aquilifer) had the honor of carrying the legionary eagle standard into battle and protecting its existence.
The eagle was a symbol of power, glory, and military strength.

The eagle stands proudly with finely detailed features of its eyes, beak, and feathers.


Pretty silver patina
Origin: Viterbo, Italy
Condition: good usable condition / see photos
1st to 3rd centuries AD
Condition: excellent
Size: 21 x 10 x 7 mm
Weight; 2.88 grams.

Need of an extremely rare type for any collection.
Not restored / not cleaned and in good condition.
Origin
Purchased by the current owner in 2004 in Vienna (Austria) at an art and antiques fair.
Collected since 1980.
Previous owners' history: Old Austrian private collection.
The pendant is sold with a modern cord and can be worn around the neck.

The seller will ensure that all necessary permits are processed.
