Oak console sideboard in the Neo‑Renaissance style, made in France around 1900–1910 from solid oak.
Description from the seller
Magnificent neo-Renaissance style sideboard in solid oak, made around the late 19th – early 20th century.
This piece of furniture is distinguished by the richness of its carved decoration.
Moulded and decorated panels with motifs of fruits, foliage, and scrolls.
Side pilasters sculpted with bunches of grapes and lion heads
Columns turned and decorated
Finely crafted upper hairstyle.
The furniture rests on small ball-shaped feet and offers great stability.
Special feature: The top surface has an ingenious system: it can fold back, thereby freeing an additional intermediate shelf that is very practical for displaying decorative objects, serving as a trolley, or expanding the usable space.
Restoration and current condition: The furniture has recently been aerogummed, revealing a beautiful light oak hue as well as its veins delicately carved by fine sandblasting, offering an authentic and warm appearance.
It simply remains to treat or polish the wood according to the buyer's preferences.
The original keys are no longer present: it is therefore possible to install pretty small brass handles (at the buyer's choice), which will add an even more practical and personalized touch.
Interior & dimensions :
- Two doors opening to a spacious storage area.
Solid brass hinges.
Wood in excellent structural condition.
Style and authenticity: This piece of furniture is a fine example of late 19th-century craftsmanship, inspired by the Henri II / Louis XIII style, highly sought after for its character and elegance.
Transport: Given the dimensions and weight of the furniture, it must be removed by the buyer on site, in the village of Mornimont - 5190.
Attention, plan for two strong people: the furniture is on the first floor (the staircase is wide) and should weigh approximately 100kg.
