Original edition of this special Christmas issue, a special edition of the magazine Caractère, featuring a rigid publisher's binding, bound in bradel with a color dust jacket. Richly illustrated in color and black and white by several artists, with very high-quality printing.

"Caractère" was intended for typographers and other book industry professionals. Each volume is very well printed and features different printing methods such as offset or heliogravure.

Maximilien Vox was the instigator of this prestigious French typographic directory, whose goal was to bring together the disparate French printing houses after the Second World War. Vox envisioned restoring the balance between commercial printing and typesetting, as well as the quality publishing that characterized the French arts of the book before the war.

Well-preserved illustrated documentation overall: some wear marks on the edges of the dust jacket. Sturdy hinge. Fresh interior, without foxing, and a beautiful layout.
