Description from the seller
Original technical drawing – 'Carburateurs Breadsnew et Wanderer' – circa 1920 – École Professionnelle de Mécanique, Huy (Belgium)
Very beautiful and highly detailed original hand-drawn technical drawing in Indian ink, depicting the cross-sections of two carburetors:
de Carburateur Breadsnew (ABC)
Motorcycle carburetor Wanderer 3 ½ HP
The drawing shows with exceptional precision the internal workings of both carburetors, including:
gas and air circuits
spray channels
gas cap mechanisms
on the control levers (gas lever and air lever).
The illustration depicts a comparative study of carburettors used in the 1920s for motorcycles and light vehicles — a period during which combustion engine technology was rapidly developing.
The drawing is entirely hand-drawn, with very fine shading, scale notes, and technical references.
Originating from the École Professionnelle de Mécanique – Section Automobile in Huy (Belgium), under the leadership of Prof. Ulysse Valentin, Professor of Automotive Mechanics and Head of Department.
Your stamp and signature are visible in the bottom right.

Short biography of Ulysse Valentin
Ulysse Valentin (active from the early 20th century) was a professor of automotive engineering in Hoei and Marchin (Liège province, Belgium). He trained young technicians and driver-mechanics during a time when the automobile was still in full development. Valentin was known for his didactic approach, producing large and precise diagrams that helped students understand the workings of engines and vehicles.
His education reflects the transition from horse-drawn carriages to cars. The signatures and stamps on his students' drawings and diplomas make these documents valuable testimonies of the early history of motorsport in Wallonia.
