Byzantine bronze ring with a lobed, scalloped bezel engraved with diagonal lines and circular punched dots, dating to the 10th–11th century AD, in good condition with outside diameter about 22.7 mm and inner diameter about 16.6–20 mm and bezel about 14.5×20.6 mm; acquired from a Netherlands auction house in 2025 and ships within the European Union.

Ancient Byzantine bronze ring with a lobed, scalloped bezel engraved with diagonal lines and circular punched dots arranged in a geometric pattern. The narrow band tapers slightly towards the shoulders. Plain ring band.
Outside diameter: ± 22,7 mm
Inside diameter: ± 16,6 - 20 mm
Bezel: ± 14,5 x 20,6 mm
Very fine condition, dark patina and signs of wear consistent with age and use.
Certificate of Authenticity (PDF) is available upon request for lots with a hammer price of €100 or higher.
Such rings were common personal ornaments throughout the Byzantine world and may also have served as protective amulets.
