Six crystal glasses attributed to Baccarat, Gravé model, France, dating to 1900–1930, in excellent condition with minor signs of wear due to age; height 10.3 cm, opening 7.8 cm, base diameter 6.2 cm.
Description from the seller
Set of 6 antique glasses, Gravè molato model, hand-decorated. These glasses belong to one of Baccarat's most prestigious lines, renowned for their refinement, the lightness of the crystal, and the precision of artisanal craftsmanship.
The glasses feature a wide, tulip-shaped bowl that is slightly flared upwards to allow for perfect aeration of the beverage and the diffusion of aromas. The base of the bowl is thick and connects to a stem with a distinctive character, crafted with six clear facets (ridges) that capture and reflect light in a prismatic manner. The base is circular, flat, and perfectly proportioned to ensure stability.
The engraving decoration (Gravé) is created using the very fine engraving technique, which produces a satin contrast on the transparent crystal. The main frieze consists of elegant scrolls and 'Rocaille' motifs that run along the entire circumference of the cup.
Their simple and elegant shape is pleasant to the touch and very comfortable to hold in the hand. The set is in excellent condition, showing minimal imperfections due to manual craftsmanship. They are unsigned as they predate 1936. France, attributed to Baccarat, model Gravè, is listed in the 1903/1904 catalog.
