Description from the seller
Jeanloup Sieff - Women
For over thirty years, the most beautiful women were captured by Jeanloup Sieff's lens. His photographs—whether portraits, nudes, or fashion shoots—reveal a woman who is audacious, sensual, and acutely aware of her seductive power. Seventy of his finest photographs, accompanied by his commentary, are gathered in this book: they bear witness to the remarkable work of a master of light who ceaselessly explored all the possibilities offered by black and white. A feast for the eyes.
About the Author
Born in 1933, Jeanloup Sieff was hired in 1955 by Elle magazine, initially as a reporter and later as a fashion photographer. Beginning in 1966, he published numerous books and exhibited his work in museums worldwide. In 1992, he won the Grand Prix National de la Photographie (National Photography Grand Prize), and in 1994, the Grand Prix of the Nancy Biennale. In 2000, he published his two final books: Faites comme si je n’étais pas là (Pretend I Wasn’t Here) with Éditions de La Martinière and États d’âmes… et ta sœur (States of Mind… and Your Sister) with Éditions Alternatives. He died on September 20, 2000, in Paris.
