It seems to be a dog, or rather a female dog.
These statues can be found on the altars alongside the anthropomorphic statues.
This one is large, about 60 cm, with a long tail and an open mouth.
As is often the case, the legs are short, with some decorations on the body.
The object is ancient and comes from the Douenza region.
Good overall condition despite some cracks in the wood due to its age.
