Description from the seller

From my private collection!

Ex Leu Numismatik - Auction 11
Los 2085 v. 02/20/2020

Very rare!!!

With portrait of Theodora!

Constantine II, 337–340. Follis (Bronze, 16 mm, 1.42 g, 6 h), a contemporary imitation of a coin from Treveri, after 337. CONSTAN-TINVS AVG bust of Theodora with rosette diadem and cuirass facing right.

Rs. GLORI-A EXER-CITVS / TRS (Palmwedel). Two soldiers facing each other, each holding an inverted spear in the outer hand and resting the inner hand on a shield lying on the ground; between them, the sign.

See RIC 91 (for the prototype on the back). Slight deposits, otherwise in good, very good condition.

From the Tetrarchy collection built over the past 25 years. This interesting imitation incorrectly combines a portrait of Constantine II with the portrait of Theodora.
