Italian wooden furniture with a Mid Century Modern design, height 180 cm, width 40 cm, depth 40 cm, made in Italy and dating from the 1960s to 1970s, in good condition with minor age-related marks and stains.
Description from the seller
It has a minimalist and geometric design that recalls the Scandinavian style reinterpreted in an Italian way: a tall, narrow column made up of four vertical slats joined in a cross, resting on a slightly raised square base with rounded edges.
At the top, on two opposite sides, four very simple turned knobs protrude, two on each side, placed at different heights: they were used for coats, hats, scarves, or bags. No frills, no umbrella stands or mirrors: it is the quintessence of the functional minimalism of the times when the old baroque entrance furniture was starting to be discarded to make space for something clean, practical, and 'design,' yet still warm thanks to the wood.
