Majestic dinner service for 12 people produced by the prestigious Limoges Chastagner manufacturer.
The company was founded by Alexandre Chastagner in 1946, taking over the premises of a pre-existing manufacturing company (Gibus et Redon). Alexandre Chastagner distinguished himself through innovation, being the first to install a modern gas furnace-cell in Limoges in 1955, significantly improving the porcelain firing and glazing process.
The company experienced a period of significant growth in the 1960s. Management was then handed over to Gérard's son in 1971. After an acquisition, the business was finally liquidated in 2002.
Each piece of the service offered at auction is decorated with a very refined floral decalcomania. Each decalcomania bears the signature of the designer Ede. The plates are also decorated with a wavy profile and extremely elegant rims.
