Hampden distillery presents C<>H Mark – Habitation, a 70 cl Jamaica rum at 68.5% ABV, distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2020 by Velier with original packaging.
Description from the seller
Hampden distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2020 as part of the Habitation Velier range after 10 years of cask aging. Distilled in a Forsyths double retort still, as depicted on the label, it bears the mark C<>H, indicating an ester content of 1,300 to 1,400 g/hlap. Velier was founded by Casimir Chaix in Genoa in 1947. It is a small family business specializing in the import and distribution of wine and spirits. Luca Gargano, a former representative of Saint James and a great rum enthusiast and collector, acquired it in 1986 and launched its trading business, initially with whisky in 1992 and then with rum in 1996. Velier's rums are distinguished by having been aged exclusively in tropical climates, resulting in a considerable aromatic concentration and angel's share. He generally bottles them at cask strength or with slight reductions. His selections from Diamond's cellars, his bottlings from Caroni or those from various Jamaican distilleries, Barbados or other countries have made their mark on the history of rum and are today among the most sought-after bottlings in the category.
