Description from the seller

An authentic fragment of the Muonionalusta meteorite, set in a carefully handcrafted silver pendant. This iron meteorite, which fell to Earth over a million years ago in the Pajala region of Sweden, is among the oldest ever found: its origin dates back more than 4.5 billion years, to the dawn of our solar system.

The surface has been polished and subjected to an acid treatment that reveals the typical geometric pattern of Widmanstätten figures — crystalline structures of kamacite and taenite visible only in meteorites that cooled slowly in the cosmic vacuum.

A jewel that carries with it the testimony of a real cosmic history, visible and tangible.

Seller's Story

The Mineral Art Gallery offers minerals, fossils, shells and natural elements. Born in Italy in 2017, today she collaborates with international galleries and collectors, she is a direct importer of large minerals and naturalistic collectible elements; deals with the processing to insert them inside the living space. A section of the gallery was dedicated to the Wunderkammer, "chamber of wonders or cabinet of curiosities" in which Mirabilia elements are presented: naturalia and italiania, a union between "the present is the past". All lots are shipped via DHL Express and Fercam couriers, with insured parcel and tracking.
