Cortendorf Porcelain Factory
Founded in 1890 by Julius Griesbach senior, the factory featured an extensive decorative ceramic program that also included a large selection of figurative ceramics.
New design elements have been introduced since 1954 by the sculptor and modeler Albert Strunz.
The sculptural works designed by him, including the repertoire of wall masks, were introduced in 1958 and continuously expanded in the following years. Due to their immense popularity, the Achental ceramics factory sometimes had to assist with their production.
At the end of January 1973, the company was taken over by the porcelain factory W. Goebel in the neighboring Rödental.
