Original edition of this very rare and highly sought-after work, which is seldom found complete. Champfleury, who was the curator of the Sèvres Museum, wrote the preface. It is enriched with 62 plates, drawn and lithographed by Barillet.

Our copy is enriched with a sending from Fieffé (see photos) and the original mock-up of the title page, hand-drawn in pencil.

Leaf copy, preserved in its double casing: portfolio with a linen back and printed flat cardboard covers, and a half-garnet morocco case with bands, with the title piece on the back, interior lined with garnet velvet. In very good condition. Few scattered foxing spots.
Rare work and very well documented. The most comprehensive edition.
