Description from the seller
Radio Braun SK2 1955. Designed by Dieter Rams. Fully functional.
The Braun SK2 radio is one of the first and most influential examples of Braun's design philosophy, developed during the formative years of Dieter Rams and Hans Gugelot.
Launched in 1955, the SK2 followed the innovative SK1 and helped establish Rams' distinctive personality: 'Less, but Better'.
With its clean geometric lines, intuitive design, and simple controls, the SK2 represents the transition from traditional post-war consumer electronics to modern industrial design.
Today, it is a coveted object of collection, admired for its architectural balance, clarity, and discreet elegance.
Status:
Technical: Fully functional, both the AM (MW) and FM (UKW) bands work correctly.
No buzzing or strange sounds.
The sound is warm, clear, and surprisingly powerful for its size.
The power cable has been replaced with a new one for safety reasons.
Optical: It is in very good condition, with minimal signs of age.
There is a crack on the left side that has been disguised (see the photos).
The Bakelite box has been lacquered again with the same color as the original (RAL 7040).
