Description from the seller
The art of the Leu family
This book illustrates the work of a creative family of artists and musicians from Switzerland, from 1953 to the present. Eva Aeppli, the first wife of Jean Tinguely, was the family's artistic pioneer. Her children are Felix Leu and Miriam Tinguely.
Felix and Loretta Leu traveled around the world and raised a family of four children: Filip, Ama, Aia, and Ajja. Many of them were artists who worked in various styles alongside their partners. In 1982, Felix and Loretta, together with Filip, founded the Family Iron Tattoo Studio & Museum of the Leu family in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The book is divided into chapters featuring a selection of works from each artist. Images from Eva Aeppli's life's work, psychedelic drawings from Felix Leu's mind, also known as Don Feliz, Loretta Leu Y Maria's mandala art, delicate works by Miriam Tinguely, surrealist and psychedelic paintings by Filip Leu, sensual oil paintings by Titine K-Leu, landscape paintings by Aia Leu, poetic works by Tanina Munchkina, digital worlds by Ajja S.F. Leu, and other family members.
What is the value of the following book?
Context & importance of the Leu-signatures
The De Leu Family (Felix, Loretta, Filip, Ajja, etc.) is regarded worldwide as pioneers of modern European tattoo art.
Signed copies are rare, especially when more than one family member signed — because usually only Filip Leu (or sometimes Loretta separately) signed at exhibitions.
A fully signed copy (with multiple signatures) is usually only available through personal meetings or exclusive releases.
