AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Exceptional Brass Table Lamp in James Mont Style (Chinoiserie) - Heavy Casting (8.3 kg!)

It is an impressive chinoiserie-inspired brass table lamp in the style of Hollywood Regency designer James Mont. The traditional shape is a fang (square) interpretation of archaic ritual bronze hu and gui from the Shang and Zhou dynasties. Such vessels adorned the tombs of the Chinese elite and were used to offer food and drink to their ancestors. The very heavy cast brass body features beautifully executed relief decoration. It is distinguished by a pair of ring-shaped handles hanging on either side from stylized animal heads. The Ming-style shade and base are made of ebony-finished wood.

• Height (Base Without Cap/Harp): 52 cm
• Total Weight (Foot): 8.3 kg
• Fitting: Standard E27 screw fitting.
Condition: The lamp is in good, used vintage condition. The brass has a beautiful patina that matches its age (see photos). The shade has a light stain on one side, which you can see in the photos.

Two packages will be shipped. The lamp and lampshade will be shipped separately.
