Each bookend has a geometric, stacked shape that is characteristic of the Art Deco period (circa 1920-1940).
The bookends are polished, giving them a shiny finish.
Bookends like these were often used to keep books upright on shelves or desks because of their heavy weight.
The bookends are in very good condition, especially considering their age, with some small chips; see all the photos.
