Küffner, Müller, Geyser, compiled for the Italian Campania/Napoli region, non‑coloured, each measuring 120 mm by 185 mm, in reasonably good condition with signs of age and handling.

III. Aussicht gegen den Vesuv vom Ufer des Meers auf der Chiaia von Portici
IV. Posillipo Caves
V. Virgils Grab nahe bei Neapel
YOU. Die Fontaine vor dem Spital der Verkündigung in Neapel
A complete series of six German engravings depicting views of Naples and Mount Vesuvius at the end of the 18th century. The images depict famous sites in the Neapolitan area, including the Posillipo Grotto, Virgil's Tomb, the Annunciation, and the eruption of Vesuvius.
The scene of the “Calabrese musicians” is a typical representation of the picturesque taste of the time.
The fine line and rich chiaroscuro indicate a quality production, probably intended for the Northern European market of Grand Tour travellers.
Overall good series, with normal signs of age:
• slight yellowing and browning
• some period stains
• a couple of sheets with old crease marks
• a sheet of paper with trimmed corners (view II)
• healthy, non-fragile paper
All engravings have a well-defined impression and sharp details.
Apply to a small piece of cardboard
